Katowice is the capital city in the upper Silesian urban area. Thanks to an extensive road and railway network, Katowice is among the best-connected cities in Poland.
From Katowice Airport [Pyrzowice] a bus shuttle service brings you in 35 min. to Katowice, main bus station.
More international flights arrive at Kraków Airport [Balice]. A train brings you in 16 minutes to Krakow Glowny, the main railway station. From Krakow main railway station you can either take a train to Katowice railway station (about 1 hour) or a direct bus service, like Flixbus, that brings you in 1 hour, 10 minutes to Katowice main bus station (Katowice Sądowa).
Another option is coming by train or bus to Katowice. There are direct train connections between Katowice and Vienna (5h), Berlin (8h) and Prague (5h).
There are low-cost direct coach connections between Katowice and Berlin, Bratislava, Vienna... and even The Hague offered by Flixbus and other coach companies.
Katowice is well accessible by car too. Nearby the A1 and A4 (E40) motorways intersect and allow access from the south to the north and from the east to the west of Poland. The E40 (A4) is the longest E-way in Europe and starts from Calais (France) over Belgium and Germany to Poland and further to Kazachstan.
